Meet Denise Swain
Denise Swain is a tour director who has been certified by the International Tour Management Institute of San Francisco, California

Denise Swain is a tour director who has been certified by the International Tour Management Institute of San Francisco, California. She has most recently served as a step-on guide for the 2019 Hidden Gardens of Old Town Tour. In 2018 she served as step-on guide for the Historical Slave Cemetery Tour. Additionally Denise has conducted city tours of Boston. Denise is passionate about research, storytelling, history and keeping the legacy of significant people and places alive. A lover of SEC Football, Denise is a journalism school graduate of the University of Georgia and a master of speech communication graduate from North Dakota State University. When she is not conducting walking tours, you’ll find Denise teaching Sunday School or attending local outdoor concerts or enjoying the company of neighbors on her porch in the historic district. Denise has completed six half-marathons and walking tours are a part of her fitness training.

 

Meet Calvin Havens
Calvin Havens is a retired pastor within the United Methodist Church of North Alabama

Calvin Havens is a retired pastor within the United Methodist Church of North Alabama. Calvin served as pastor for Ford’s Chapel in Harvest and as pastor for Friendship United Methodist in Athens. Calvin made national headline when he and his congregation made housing provision for a homeless mother of two. He successfully organized a team to provide safe and secure housing and employment and food for her. A proud family man, Calvin is husband, father and grandfather. Currently Calvin serves as an instructor at Huntsville Bible College. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary and Auburn University. Recently, Calvin led a group of pastors through a tour the Holy Land.
